Privacy Policy

‍ ‍

Effective Date: August 27, 2026

‍ ‍

This Privacy Policy describes how NVTS LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in the BBQ Grill Timer & Planner mobile application (“the App”).

‍ ‍

We designed the App to operate primarily on your device. The App does not require a user account, does not maintain a developer-operated cloud database containing your cooking information, and does not use advertising or analytics SDKs.

‍ ‍

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, contact us at:

‍ ‍

1. Information Stored on Your Device

‍ ‍

The App stores information locally on your device so that its cooking, planning, history, recipe, customization, and preference features can function.

‍ ‍

Depending on how you use the App, locally stored information may include:

‍ ‍

·         Cook history

‍ ‍

·         Cook dates and times

‍ ‍

·         Grill types and configurations

‍ ‍

·         Cuts of meat and cooking methods

‍ ‍

·         Doneness selections

‍ ‍

·         Cooking and resting times

‍ ‍

·         Grill and food temperatures

‍ ‍

·         Cook results

‍ ‍

·         User-created session names

‍ ‍

·         User-created cut names

‍ ‍

·         User-created recipes

‍ ‍

·         Ingredients and preparation instructions

‍ ‍

·         User-entered cooking notes

‍ ‍

·         Custom cooking configurations

‍ ‍

·         Learned cooking-time adjustments

‍ ‍

·         App preferences

‍ ‍

·         Notification information

‍ ‍

·         Active cook-session information

‍ ‍

·         Weather information associated with an active cook

‍ ‍

The App does not require you to provide your name, email address, phone number, account credentials, contacts, photos, advertising identifier, IMEI, MAC address, or similar identifiers.

‍ ‍

Some fields allow you to type your own names, notes, recipes, or other text. What you choose to enter into those fields remains stored locally on your device unless you intentionally export or share it.

‍ ‍

2. Location and Weather

‍ ‍

The App includes an optional weather feature that can use your device’s location to retrieve local weather information.

‍ ‍

Location access is used for App functionality, including helping account for weather conditions such as temperature and wind that may affect grilling or cooking conditions.

‍ ‍

The App does not access location simply because the App is opened.

‍ ‍

Location is accessed when you use the weather feature. During certain longer active cooks, weather information may also be refreshed periodically while that cook is running.

‍ ‍

The App transmits latitude and longitude to external weather/location services to obtain the information required for this feature.

‍ ‍

The App does not permanently store your latitude or longitude.

‍ ‍

Location access is optional. You may deny or revoke location permission, and the rest of the App will continue to function, although location-based weather functionality will not be available.

‍ ‍

3. Third-Party Weather and Location Services

‍ ‍

The App currently communicates with the following third-party services when the weather feature is used:

‍ ‍

Open-Meteo

‍ ‍

The App sends latitude and longitude to Open-Meteo to obtain information including local temperature, wind speed, and weather conditions.

‍ ‍

This information is used to support weather-related cooking adjustments and recommendations.

‍ ‍

Open-Meteo maintains its own terms and privacy practices.

‍ ‍

BigDataCloud

‍ ‍

The App sends latitude and longitude to BigDataCloud’s reverse-geocoding service to obtain a general place name, such as a city or locality, for display in the weather portion of the App.

‍ ‍

This service is used for display purposes and is not required for the App’s cooking calculations.

‍ ‍

BigDataCloud maintains its own privacy policy and data-handling practices.

‍ ‍

We do not control the independent privacy practices of these third-party services.

‍ ‍

4. How Location Information Is Handled

‍ ‍

Coordinates used by the weather feature are transmitted using encrypted HTTPS connections.

‍ ‍

The App uses the coordinates to make the weather and location requests but does not save the latitude or longitude in its local data storage.

‍ ‍

Weather results may temporarily be associated with an active cook. The locally retained weather information may include items such as:

‍ ‍

·         Temperature

‍ ‍

·         Wind speed

‍ ‍

·         Weather description

‍ ‍

·         Weather-related cooking adjustment

‍ ‍

·         General city or locality name

‍ ‍

The App does not retain the corresponding geographic coordinates with that cook information.

‍ ‍

5. Android Location Permissions

‍ ‍

On supported Android devices, the App may request both approximate and precise location permissions.

‍ ‍

Although both permissions may be declared because of Android and application-framework compatibility requirements, the App does not request high-accuracy geolocation in its weather request.

‍ ‍

Location permission is used only for location-dependent App functionality.

‍ ‍

You can revoke location permission at any time through Android Settings.

‍ ‍

6. Notifications and Alarms

‍ ‍

The App may request permission to send notifications and schedule time-sensitive alarms.

‍ ‍

These permissions are used for cooking-related alerts such as flip, check, phase-change, or pull notifications.

‍ ‍

Depending on your version of Android, the App may also use Android functionality that allows scheduled cooking alerts to wake the device or be restored following a device restart.

‍ ‍

These permissions are used for cooking-timer functionality and are not used for advertising or tracking.

‍ ‍

7. No Advertising or Analytics Tracking

‍ ‍

The current version of the App does not contain:

‍ ‍

·         Advertising SDKs

‍ ‍

·         Behavioral advertising

‍ ‍

·         Advertising-ID tracking

‍ ‍

·         Firebase Analytics

‍ ‍

·         Google Analytics

‍ ‍

·         Crashlytics

‍ ‍

·         Sentry

‍ ‍

·         Attribution SDKs

‍ ‍

·         A/B testing SDKs

‍ ‍

·         Similar third-party analytics or tracking services

‍ ‍

Any analytics or statistics displayed inside the App are calculated locally from information stored on your own device.

‍ ‍

8. No User Accounts or Developer Cloud Database

‍ ‍

The current version of the App does not require or create a user account.

‍ ‍

We do not operate a server-side database that stores your cook history, recipes, notes, preferences, or other App information.

‍ ‍

Because there is no developer-hosted user account, there is no developer-hosted account to delete.

‍ ‍

9. Android Backup and Device Transfer

‍ ‍

Android may include locally stored App information in Android’s operating-system backup or device-to-device transfer features.

‍ ‍

When this occurs, the backup or transfer is performed by Android or the user’s selected platform or account provider on the user’s behalf. It is not a transfer of the information to an NVTS LLC-operated server.

‍ ‍

Your use of those backup services may also be governed by the privacy policies and terms of the applicable platform provider.

‍ ‍

10. Exporting and Sharing Your Information

‍ ‍

The App allows you to intentionally export or share certain information.

‍ ‍

These features may include:

‍ ‍

Backup Export

‍ ‍

You may export App information to a file that you choose where to save.

‍ ‍

Cook History Export

‍ ‍

You may export cooking history in CSV or another supported file format.

‍ ‍

Sharing

‍ ‍

You may choose to share a cooking summary using Android’s sharing functionality or copy information to your device clipboard.

‍ ‍

When you intentionally export or share information, the destination you select may have its own privacy practices.

‍ ‍

The App does not determine how another application or service handles information after you choose to send it there.

‍ ‍

11. Data Retention

‍ ‍

Cook history, recipes, custom cuts, preferences, learned cooking information, and similar App information remain locally on your device until you delete them, reset the applicable feature, clear the App’s storage, or uninstall the App.

‍ ‍

The App does not maintain a developer-controlled server-side copy of this information.

‍ ‍

Location coordinates used for weather requests are not retained in the App’s local storage.

‍ ‍

12. Deleting Your Information

‍ ‍

Because App information is primarily stored locally, you control its deletion.

‍ ‍

Depending on the type of information, you can delete data by:

‍ ‍

·         Deleting or clearing cook history

‍ ‍

·         Resetting learned cooking suggestions

‍ ‍

·         Removing user-created information where the applicable feature provides that option

‍ ‍

·         Clearing the App’s storage through Android Settings

‍ ‍

·         Uninstalling the App

‍ ‍

Uninstalling the App removes its locally stored information from the device, subject to any independent Android backup or device-transfer functionality controlled by your platform provider.

‍ ‍

There is no NVTS LLC server-side user account or cook database requiring a separate deletion request.

‍ ‍

13. Security

‍ ‍

We take reasonable measures appropriate to the App’s architecture to protect information handled by the App.

‍ ‍

Location information transmitted to the weather and location services described above is transmitted over HTTPS-encrypted connections.

‍ ‍

Most other App information remains on the user’s device unless the user intentionally exports or shares it.

‍ ‍

No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

‍ ‍

14. Children’s Privacy

‍ ‍

BBQ Grill Timer & Planner is not designed or directed specifically toward children.

‍ ‍

The App does not knowingly operate a child-specific account system or intentionally collect personal information from children through a developer-operated backend.

‍ ‍

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

‍ ‍

We may update this Privacy Policy as the App changes or as legal, technical, or regulatory requirements change.

‍ ‍

When changes are made, the Effective Date at the top of this Privacy Policy will be updated.

‍ ‍

If a future version of the App introduces materially different data practices, such as user accounts, developer-operated cloud storage, advertising, analytics, or additional third-party services, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

‍ ‍
